The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy (FKF) at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense invites applications for a position as assistant professor in pharmaceutics. The position will have a duration of three years and in case of a successful completion the department will open a permanent associate professor position in the candidate's area of research, for which the candidate can apply.
FKF handles research in chemistry, physics, pharmacy and a multitude of areas across these sciences. It is also the home of several research centres. FKF is responsible for the degree courses in Chemistry, Physics, Nano-bioscience, Medical Chemistry and Pharmacy.
This assistant professor position is pivotal to FKF's efforts to expand and strengthen pharmaceutical research and teaching at SDU. The successful candidate should be a pharmacist by training and hold a PhD in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related fields.
A proven research record within one or more of the biopharmaceutical areas:
- solute carriers or ABC transporters
- cell culture models
- animal studies
- transporter-related drug delivery
- drug targeting
will be favoured.
Activity in peer-reviewed international journals, active international collaborations, and ability to attract external funding is expected.
The chosen candidate will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching in the department's study programme in Pharmacy and Medicinal Chemistry. This also includes supervision of dissertation projects for BSc and MSc students. Some teaching experience is therefore expected.
