Unemployment insurance
If you become unemployed, it is important to be a member of an unemployment insurance fund to receive benefits. Join Akademikernes A-kasse (AKA), just like many of our other members.
If you lose your job, you must be a member of an unemployment insurance fund to be entitled to unemployment benefits.
Pharmadanmark is a union for employees and managers in the life science sector. We are not an unemployment insurance fund.
To secure your right to unemployment benefits, follow the example of many of our members and join Akademikernes A-kasse (AKA).
When you are a member of both Pharmadanmark and AKA, you are fully covered throughout your working life.
AKA is a strong and affordable unemployment insurance fund that provides financial security if you become unemployed, and together with us, they help you move forward in your career.

Unemployment insurance or union – what is the difference?
Unemployment insurance funds and unions are not the same, but they complement each other.
Unemployment insurance fund (AKA): Pays unemployment benefits, supports your job search, early retirement and training
Union (Pharmadanmark): Negotiates your salary and employment terms, advises on contracts and working life, provides legal support and career guidance
To be fully covered, you should be a member of both Pharmadanmark and an unemployment insurance fund.
