Support for Continuing Education
Would you like to develop your professional skills and strengthen your career? As a public sector employee, you can apply for financial support for continuing and further education through one of the three competence funds..
Competence funds are a valuable opportunity to cover expenses for courses, diploma programmes, and master’s degrees.
If you are employed by a region or municipality, you can receive up to DKK 30,000 in support for continuing education and up to DKK 50,000 if you apply for a master’s degree programme.
If you are employed by the state, different terms and funding limits apply, but there are still strong opportunities for support.
Which fund can I apply to?
We recommend that you start by identifying which fund applies to your employment. We have gathered an overview to help you easily find the right fund.
The Municipal Competence Fund
For employees working in a municipality and covered by a collective agreement between Local Government Denmark (KL) and one of the trade organisations included in the agreement.
The Regional Competence Fund
For employees working in a region and covered by a collective agreement between the regions and one of the trade organisations included in the agreement.
The State Competence Fund
For employees working for the state and covered by a collective agreement between the state and one of the trade organisations included in the agreement.
How do I apply?
Your employer submits the application, but you need to take the initiative and prepare a clear plan for what you would like to learn and how it will strengthen your skills in your current or future role. This means being clear about your goals and able to explain why this particular programme is relevant.
