International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP)
FIP is the global organisation for pharmacists, representing more than 5.5 million professionals worldwide. Each year, FIP hosts a world congress featuring networking opportunities and expert presentations – and as a Pharmadanmark member, you may receive funding to attend.
If you are a pharmacist working in a pharmacy, you are automatically a member of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) as part of your collective agreement.
FIP represents more than 5.5 million pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists worldwide and works broadly to advance the pharmacy profession and promote the expanded use of pharmacists in healthcare systems.
FIP offers regular online events and hosts an annual world congress featuring a wide range of professional presentations, lectures, and networking opportunities.
FIP World Congress in Copenhagen
In 2025, the FIP World Congress was held at the Bella Centre in Copenhagen.
A record 3,379 participants from 101 countries attended the event, which featured insightful presentations, engaging debates, poster sessions, and extensive networking opportunities.
Over five days, key topics included antimicrobial resistance (AMR), CRISPR technology, data sharing, and the potential of artificial intelligence.
The Minister for the Interior and Health, Sophie Løhde, opened the first day of the congress, highlighting Denmark’s important role in the global Life Science industry – particularly in combating AMR.
The day concluded with 75 FIP member organisations signing a joint declaration aimed at addressing antibiotic resistance.
Funding for FIP congress participation
In 2026, the FIP World Congress will take place in Montreal, Canada.
As a pharmacy pharmacist and member of Pharmadanmark, you can apply for funding to attend FIP congresses.
Applications must be submitted through the U2F Fund.
