Collective agreement

Collective agreement for pharmacy professionals

As a pharmacy professional, you are covered by a collective agreement that ensures strong salary and employment terms. You also have the opportunity to negotiate your own qualification and function-based allowances.

Are you a pharmacist working in a pharmacy? Then you are covered by a collective agreement between Pharmadanmark and the Association of Danish Pharmacies.

The agreement defines key terms such as salary levels, working hours, holidays, and pensions.

It provides security in your employment terms, while also allowing you to negotiate additional benefits.

You can negotiate part of your salary

As part of the collective agreement, you negotiate qualification and function-based allowances yourself.

This means your experience, responsibilities, and results can increase your overall salary.

Salary for pharmacy professionals

Your salary consists of:

  • Salary scale – based on your seniority and divided into four levels

  • Collective agreement allowances – for example on-call allowances and shift payments

  • Individually negotiated allowances – such as qualification supplements, function-based pay, and performance-related pay

Are you a prescribing pharmacist?

If you are a prescribing pharmacist working in a pharmacy, special rules apply regarding affiliation with companies.

You must obtain approval from the Danish Medicines Agency if you are employed by a pharmaceutical company while also working shifts in a pharmacy.

When applying, select the affiliation type “Other” and describe your employment relationship in the free text field.

A collaboration agreement gives you additional security

In addition to the collective agreement, you are covered by a specific collaboration agreement between Pharmadanmark, the Association of Danish Pharmacies, and the Danish Association of Pharmaconomists.

This supports strong collaboration at the pharmacy, benefiting both you and your colleagues.

Professional Representation

Professional representation covers a range of activities where community pharmacists contribute to the benefit of the pharmacy sector. This may include participating in collective bargaining negotiations, serving as a lay judge in professional arbitration cases, or working on the board of Pharmadanmark’s Community Pharmacy Section.

The scheme allows individual community pharmacists to take part in these activities without having to take leave or face a salary deduction. The pharmacy is reimbursed for overtime and/or temporary staff costs through funds allocated under the collective agreement.

This ensures that work benefiting the sector as a whole is supported and prioritised collectively, without placing an unreasonable financial burden on either the pharmacist or the pharmacy.
