Salary for pharmacy professionals

Your salary as a pharmacy professional is defined by a collective agreement, but you can also negotiate additional allowances. We guide you to fully understand your salary and employment terms.

How your salary is structured

When you work as a pharmacist in a pharmacy, your salary is defined by a collective agreement.

This ensures a base salary and additional allowances. It also gives you a clear framework and good opportunities to negotiate your salary based on your experience and responsibilities.

What your salary includes

Your salary consists of:

  • Salary scale – based on your seniority and divided into four levels

  • Collective agreement allowances – for example on-call allowances and shift payments

  • Individually negotiated allowances – such as qualification supplements, function-based pay, and performance-related pay

The four salary levels

Your salary level determines your base salary and depends on your experience:

  • Level 1: 0–2 years of professional experience

  • Level 2: 2–4 years of professional experience

  • Level 3: 4–6 years of professional experience

  • Level 4: More than 6 years of professional experience

You negotiate part of your salary

As a pharmacy pharmacist, you negotiate part of your salary yourself, in addition to your base salary.

This typically includes:

  • Function and qualification-based allowances

  • Your responsibilities and tasks

  • Your experience and professional development

  • You negotiate your salary both when you are hired and during annual salary reviews.

  • It is important to be well prepared. Our salary calculator helps you understand what someone with your experience, seniority, and skills can expect to earn.
