Unemployment scheme
As a member of Pharmadanmark, you are automatically covered by our collective unemployment scheme (PDA). The scheme provides a financial supplement to unemployment benefits if you become involuntarily unemployed.
If you lose your job, you may receive financial support through Pharmadanmark’s special unemployment scheme.
The scheme is called PDA and provides a financial supplement to state unemployment benefits.
For highly educated professionals with higher salaries, unemployment benefits alone often do not cover the full household budget. With PDA, you are better protected if you become involuntarily unemployed.
Important: You are not eligible for PDA support if you resign voluntarily. Always contact us before resigning.
How does the unemployment scheme work?
Who is eligible for the unemployment scheme?
You may receive support if you:
Have been a member of Pharmadanmark for 24 months – or 12 months if you joined before completion of your studies
Have completed 12 months of relevant professional employment
Have been made redundant or completed a fixed-term position
Are available for work and actively seeking employment
Please note: You are not eligible for PDA if you resign voluntarily or has reached the age of 67 ( the age of the state pension scheme)
How much support can you receive?
PDA is a collective scheme that provides support based on your previous salary. In 2026, you can receive up to DKK 14,074 per month before tax through PDA.
If you receive the maximum unemployment benefit rate (DKK 22,042), PDA means you can receive a total of up to DKK 36,115 per month before tax.
You can receive PDA support for up to 52 weeks

How to apply for the unemployment scheme
Apply up to one month before your first day of unemployment. We cannot grant support retroactively.
